So, I've got a new toy... And it's cool! The TC Helicon Voicetone Harmony G-XT (rolls right off the tongue, no?) is an acoustic player's dream. Plug a mic into this and it gives studio-like vocal effects like compression, de-essing, EQ, doubling, reverb, echo, and flange. Plug a guitar in, and it listens for the root and 3rd of the chord you're playing, and with the touch of a foot pedal adds 2 voices of harmony above and/or below your voice. Want to hear how it sounds? Check out these videos I recorded with it. You can hear reverb and other effects on the verses, and harmony on the choruses. Too cool! The summertime gigs continue! Performing this Sunday, July 22 at 7pm is the Doug Scott Quintet - aka "8:14". Doug Scott, Godfrey Porter, Jason Cassell, Mike Karoub & myself will perform Jazz standards like "Fly Me To The Moon," "Take The 'A' Train," "Lullaby of Birdland," and more. The performance will be at the gazebo on the corner of Meridian and Macomb streets on Grosse Ile. Join us for an evening of summertime jazz! Come out and hear Mike rock out on the jazz cello!
From our gig at The Rockery on 7/13/12. More to come...
