ShinyHead Music Is: Dave MartinDave Martin is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and music educator. He lives in Southeast Michigan, holds 2 degrees in music education, and has inspired students to find their voice for over 25 years. Dave is currently the choir director at Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church.
Dave enjoys performing music in many styles: Rock and pop with various bands, classical and choral music with choirs throughout the region, and jazz and sacred music in church. His songwriting inspirations include The Bible, his wife and two children. In February 2012, Dave was honored to win the Southern Great Lakes Symphony's Downriver Idol competition. Dave's first CD of all original compositions, "Sunday Morning Live, Vol. 1" by Dave Martin and the GIPC Band was released in October, 2015. The follow up, "Vol. 2" came in October 2016. His 2021 release, The Crown Sessions, is his first studio album. In addition to performing his own music, Dave enjoys singing and playing guitar in the Detroit area Grateful Dead tribute, Raising The Dead. In 2023, Dave celebrated the grand opening of Shinyhead Studios, a full-featured recording and rehearsal studio located in Wyandotte. |
