On Friday, January 12, I performed at St. Kieran's Catholic church in Shelby Township, MI. Music Director Matt Kush organized a service of contemporary Christian songs to accompany worship. We played for a packed congregation of exceptional young people and their church family. Here are three of the fifteen songs we performed. Downriver teacher's song aids Sandy Hook charities A Taylor music teacher and Wyandotte resident, Dave Martin, has penned "20 Beautiful Children," a tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. Martin recorded the song with a group of area children and is offering it for download on his website to anyone who makes a donation to a Sandy Hook charity such as Healing Newtown, Sandy Hook School Support Fund or Supporting Newtown Teachers. Thanks to everyone for all their support of the Newtown community and this project! So far, the video has been viewed over 1,200 times, Shiny Head music has surpassed 200 "Likes," and best of all - we have raised almost $900 for Newtown charities!
