On Sunday, November 17, the 8:14 Band played 6 songs by Paul Simon in the worship service at Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church.  With the theme "Jesus loves you more than you will know," songs were presented with the special addition of our new Line 6 "Dream Stage" sound system, including an MD20 digital mixer, two L2M monitors and 2 L2T mains.

The song "Blessed" is one I'd never heard before learning it for this service.  It's from "Bridge Over Troubled Water," but I'm re-creating the live performance from the "Old Friends" box set, where Paul Simon plays in DADGAD tuning.  It's a cool "deep track" from the Simon and Garfunkel catalog.

Last Saturday, June 22, I was honored to be asked to sing with an amazing group of musicians, The Rhythm Kings.  The group was hired to play a wedding reception at - of all places - The Huntington Room, which is inside MSU's Spartan Stadium, overlooking the iconic collegiate field.  The 10-piece ensemble played songs from Beatles to Lady Gaga, Sam and Dave to Michael Buble.  I brought my camera and recorded a couple songs to share with you.  

I'll be joining The Rhythm Kings again when they play at Weber's Restaurant in Ann Arbor on August 9 and 10.  

On Thursday, June 13, Swing Shift played at the Auburn Hills Community Recreation Center.  We played an eclectic mix of new and old, jazz, blues, and rock - all tunes with a swingin' beat.  For this show, Phil Mooney rocked the guitar as only he can, Mike "Moose" Shriver kept the low end up on bass, and Jim Dignan smacked his Slingerlands.  I sang lead on most songs, and for this gig I switched off between guitar and keyboards, using my new Novation Launchkey 61 controlling Mainstage on my MacBook Pro for most of the show.  I loved the new gear!  Here are some songs from that gig for your listening enjoyment. 

On Friday, March 22nd, I played an acoustic performance at Tongue's Cafe in Wyandotte.  Here are a few videos of my favorite performances from that show.  

On Friday, February 15th, Corner Pocket (a 4-piece version of The Bel Airs) performed blues, oldies, Motown, and country hits at the Plymouth VFW post.  The gig was a fundraiser for Sue Willis, and made thousands of dollars to go towards the purchase of medical equipment.  Corner Pocket was honored to be a part of this event!  Here are four songs we performed.
